Academic Sports Association
About
The Association (KU AZS) was established in 1963 and its aim is to promote physical fitness and provide access to sport and recreation on campus. Students can now participate in the following:
- aerobics
- indoor and outdoor football
- horse-riding
- canoeing
- karate
- chess
- cycling
- coed basketball and volleyball
- athletics
- swimming
- paragliding
- table tennis
- windsurfing
- sailing
The University is represented in collegiate sports in the following: cross-country, horse-riding, mountain-biking, coed basketball and volleyball, athletics, football, and table tennis.
The University was delighted to have participated in the 2004 World Equestrian Championships in Japan, boasts one of the best mountain biking and cycling teams in the country, and regularly does well in table tennis, sailing, athletics and kyokushin karate.
The Association warmly invites any students who are interested in participating sports and recreation to drop by the facilities and learn more.
